Lead Generation Solutions During Economic Hardships

Lead Generation Solutions During Economic Hardships

Jessica is a digital expert & founder of Valux, LLC, a digital marketing company that helps businesses complete the digital transformation.

It’s no secret to businesses of all sizes that the Covid-19 pandemic has been detrimental to the economy’s health. We’re facing the worst economic recession since the Great Depression. Bringing in new business isn’t easy during a thriving economy, let alone during a recession. Potential consumers and clients tend to choose what they invest in more carefully, think more about purchases and take longer to buy.

It’s time to think outside the typical cold call and poorly targeted ad approach that many companies take when they’ve got the “extra” money to spend. Digital marketing is a powerful addition to your lead generation efforts, and your entire campaign must be executed flawlessly to prevent wasting money and time.

Ask Your Digital Marketing Team To Target Your Cold Calls

There is nothing wrong with a traditional, sales-driven cold call. Family-owned businesses and large corporations have been generating leads this way for many years because it works. If you work with a digital marketing team to formulate your campaign, ask them to help you aim your cold calls rather than replacing them.

When implemented correctly, digital marketing research will target the cold call clients your business should be contacting, instead of using a time-wasting hit-or-miss method. By doing so, you can streamline your process, your contacts and your time.

Let The Uptick In Internet Use Work In Your Favor

Humans everywhere found themselves suddenly thrust into a work-from-home environment during the pandemic. My company is an integrated sales and marketing service provider, and many of our clients are facing the same challenge: The work-from-home schedule makes it harder to reach the decision-maker. This is one of the reasons why, when

Nobel Peace Prize Underscores The Need For Sustainable Market Solutions To Global Hunger

Nobel Peace Prize Underscores The Need For Sustainable Market Solutions To Global Hunger

Today, the Nobel Committee bestowed this year’s Nobel Peace Prize on the World Food Programme, citing its herculean efforts to combat hunger, especially in war-torn areas. In doing so, the Committee stated that it “wishes to turn the eyes of the world towards the millions of people who suffer from or face the threat of hunger.”

As COVID-19 threatens to push 132 million more people into extreme hunger (and has already pushed 100 million people into its corollary, extreme poverty), it’s more critical than ever to invest in sustainable market solutions that strengthen rural livelihoods. So let’s turn our eyes toward smallholder farmers, then come back to the role of small business and entrepreneurship. First, some numbers:

  • Two billion people—26% of the global population—experienced hunger or food insecurity in 2019, with 690 million of them facing chronic hunger. Worse yet, this number has been rising over the last five years.
  • 75% of the world’s hungry are smallholder farmers and their families, despite the fact that they produce a significant amount of the world’s food.

Smallholder farmers—particularly in sub-Saharan Africa—are the face of hunger. But let’s be clear: The problem is not that there isn’t enough food to nourish everyone; the problem is that too many can’t afford to put food on the table. Global action to reverse this trend and get back on track for the UN’s 2030 “zero hunger” target must therefore have rural livelihoods at its center.

To build sustainable livelihoods, smallholder farmers need at least three things: access to reliable incomes, resources to invest in the growth and health of their farms, and support to tackle livelihood shocks like COVID-19 or climate change. But the typical smallholder farmer lives hundreds of miles from accessible markets, leaving them with few choices but to sell their crops

Fuel Retailers Need Creative Solutions to Offset Costs of EMV Compatibility Upgrades, Says TNS – Press Release

Fuel Retailers Need Creative Solutions to Offset Costs of EMV Compatibility Upgrades, Says TNS – Press Release

RESTON, Va.–(Business Wire)–As fuel retailers implement and complete projects to upgrade automated fuel dispenser (AFD) equipment at the forecourt to avoid the liability shift, the initial costs have proven to be a challenge for many. Yet it is critical to make these upgrades sooner rather than later to reduce fraud costs — leading Transaction Network Services (TNS) to introduce flexible pricing structures with the goal of helping retailers offset their upfront and ongoing costs.

The longer retailers wait to upgrade, the more it will likely cost. Conexxus, a non-profit trade industry technology organization, found that installation costs (e.g., labor) tend to increase due to high demand leading up to an industry-wide change. On average, installation costs rise 14% six months before the deadline, 23% three months before the deadline, and 33% at the deadline, and remain around 31% higher following the deadline.

Yet budgets have become especially tight this year due to the pandemic, leading many retailers to hesitate on starting their projects. TNS is responding to this challenging reality by creating pricing strategies aimed at relieving near-term spend for early movers and offering retailers the benefit of a tailored combination of services.

“TNS understands that retailers are constrained by tightening budgets amid a lower demand for fuel and reduced foot traffic as a result of the pandemic, and our pricing strategies are intended to give operators who work with us a reduction in the pain associated with near-term spend given this current climate,” said Dan Lyman, TNS’ Head of Payments Markets, North America. “We want to help them get the most value out of their upgrades by avoiding liability and fraud and implementing the fast, secure payments infrastructure that is extensible to create new revenue opportunities, enhance and personalize customer engagement, and improve the overall customer experience.”

TNS is
